What happens next?

We will contact you to book an appointment at one of our local link offices to have your photo taken or to let you know if anything is missing from your application.

How much will it cost?

We charge £3.50 for the blue badge system. This includes having your photograph taken in the correct format as we are no longer able to accept printed passport photos.

When will I get it?

There is one national manufacturer that produces all blue badges. They will post your badge out to you within ten days of receiving your completed application form and photograph.

Can I use my blue badge in council car parks?

Blue badge holders are entitled to park free of charge in any of our car parks but other councils may charge a fee to park in their car parks.

How long is my blue badge valid?

Blue badges are generally valid for three years and you may have to remember to renew your badge at least six weeks before it is due to expire.

What happens if my blue badge is lost or stolen?

If you lose your blue badge, or it is stolen, please contact our team on 01724 296188 to discuss ordering a replacement badge.

What happens if your application is turned down?

We will explain why your application has been turned down.

You can ask us to reconsider your case if you don’t think all the important information you provided has been taken into account.

You can also re-apply if your mobility problems become more serious.
