About the partnership
The main purpose of the Learning Disability Partnership is to:
- help improve outcomes for people with learning disabilities
- give them opportunities to ‘have a voice’ about things that affect their lives and their communities
The Learning Disability Partnership is a citizen partnership. It has two service user co-chairs and a professional co-chair. The partnership also has service user representatives from the local Time for Action Group, Gateway and other service user voice groups.
All service users with learning disabilities, carers, parents or other family members can attend the partnership.
Meetings take place on a quarterly basis at the Learning Development Centre on Enderby Road in Scunthorpe. Representatives from Adults Services, the Advocacy Service, Health, schools and voluntary organisations also regularly attend the partnership.
